Myrtle Beach in May is filled with plenty of things to do. Whether you want to take part in activities at the Resort or venture out into the town, we've compiled a list of the most exciting events happening in the area. Here's our list of what you can look forward to during your stay with us this May at Grand Palms Resort:

La Belle Amie Vineyard Tour
Wednesdays
"Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina," as the wise, old song goes – that is, unless you have a glass of fine wine from La Belle Amie Vineyard in-hand. Take the trip with us to La Belle Amie Vineyard that includes a self-guided tour of the vineyard, wine tasting, lunch, and live music. Tickets may be purchased from our Indoor Pool Office by calling Ext. 1400.
The shuttle leaves the Resort at 10 am and returns to the Resort by 4 pm. (Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Must have a minimum of 8 participants.) Read more about La Belle Amie here.

S'mores at the Patio at Grand Palms Resort
Everyday
Come relax by an open fire while making something special to eat. Enjoy making and eating delicious s'mores with kits available for $5 at the Indoor Pool Office. Read more about our S'mores Activity here.

Stuff a Sea Creature at Grand Palms Resort
Monday - Friday
Stuff a sea creature and design a take-home box for your new loved one! Includes a birth certificate for our new friend. A portion of the proceeds are donated to help local sea turtle rescue. Read more about the Stuff a Sea Creature activity in our blog article here.

Summer Light: Art by Night at Brookgreen Gardens
Throughout May
Summer Light: Art by Light” is an opportunity to explore and experience the historic Brookgreen Gardens' landscapes like never before. From the 800 upcycled chandeliers and 900 wine bottle alcoves, experience the Oak Allée and Beyond the Garden Wall like never before. Immerse yourself with sounds and lights by visiting the exquisite Conway Glass display, the “blooming flora” in the Children’s Garden, and more. Live music is performed each night by various bands throughout the summer. A variety of food and beverage options are available throughout the gardens.

Atalaya Tour at Huntington Beach State Park
Throughout the Summer
Tour the winter home of Anna and Archer Huntington with a docent from the Friends of Huntington Beach State Park. You discover how this home helped a community through tough years, inspired art and eventually became a National Historic Landmark. Atalaya Tours are Monday through Friday 2 - 3 pm.

66th Annual Sun Fun Festival
May 6 - 8
Bring your family to the 66th annual Sun Fun Festival parade and events in Myrtle Beach. The Sun Fun Festival, which originally ran from 1951 to 2011 and returned in 2016, kicks off summer in Myrtle Beach with a variety of family-friendly events, including the Sun Fun Parade and live entertainment!

Ripley's Aquarium Beaks & Brushes
May 7
Moms and the special women in our lives deserve to be shell-ebrated. Show them your appreciation and share a special experience this Mother’s Day. Ripley’s Aquarium is hosting a special Mom & Me painting event. Create a masterpiece together while enjoying all of the spectacular aquatic life that Ripley’s Aquarium has to offer, including their brand-new Penguin Playhouse.

Spring Wine Festival In The Gardens

Enjoy wine tastings and live music throughout Brookgreen Gardens at their 2nd Annual food & wine event. Tickets are sold for wine tastings, raffle prizes, and other activities.

Blessing of the Inlet
May 7
The Blessing of the Inlet celebrates its 26th anniversary as one of the Inlet’s most revered festivals. The festival has grown to include a day of entertainment, with arts and crafts vendors, various Murrells Inlet restaurants and local food purveyors, children’s play area with games, and fun events for the entire family.

Eaglemania: Eagles Tribute at The Carolina Opry Theater
May 8
The world’s greatest Eagles tribute band is back by popular demand at The Carolina Opry Theater. Enjoy the Eagles’ greatest hits, as well as select solo favorites by Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Joe Walsh. If you like the Eagles, don’t miss the chance to experience the authentic sound of Eaglemania.

Blue Crab Festival
May 14 - 15
Located at the Historic Little River Waterfront in Little River, SC, the World Famous Blue Crab Festival is one of the largest festivals in the Southeast. Stayin' Alive: Bee Gees Tribute at The Carolina Opry Theater

Stayin’ Alive offers audiences the songs and sights of a full Bee Gees play list, singing blockbusters such as “Night Fever”, “Jive Talkin'”, “How Deep Is Your Love”, “You Should Be Dancing”, “Nights on Broadway”, and “Stayin’ Alive”.
