If you’re planning your Myrtle Beach visit in July (or any of the next several months) and you are looking forward to some sand and sun at the beach, we have some important information to pass on to you: The Army Corp of Engineers is renourishing the Grand Strand with fresh sand to alleviate erosion and protect our coastline. To do this they must close off sections of the beach for a couple days at a time. On the weekend of July 4th, our very own Surfside Beach is scheduled for this process and you’ll want to move your beach party a little further down the beach. We particularly recommend heading south to Garden City Beach if you’re looking for a smaller crowd than the incredibly popular Myrtle Beach.
For a more detailed look at the schedule and what the renourishment entails, please take a look at this highly informative article from VisitMyrtleBeach.com
