Yo ho, yo ho! Become a pirate and join in on the fun at Pirates Voyage in Myrtle Beach. Pirates Voyage is an immersive show that takes you right to sea where you discover magic and adventure.
I embarked on this swashbuckling adventure with my fellow interns from Grand Palms Resort. It's hard to miss the beautiful building that begins your experience. The building looks like it was pulled from the pages of Treasure Island and sets the tone as soon as you arrive.
Before the show begins, you have the chance to walk around the gift shop, purchase drinks, or even get your face painted. It is the perfect foretaste of what's about to happen, and it is a great way to wait for the show to start.
Then the doors open, and we walk to our seats. I couldn’t believe my eyes. There are two huge pirate ships right in front of us and water where the stage should be. As we waited for the show to start live parrots fly over our heads and the scene is set for high adventure.
I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say the show is unforgettable! Throughout the show pirates come down from the ceiling, out of the water, and off the ship. There are mermaids, ghosts, and even sea lions! My personal favorite is when the dogs come out, they make fantastic pirates.
The show has music, intrigue, forbidden love, and much, much more. Not to mention a delicious four-course feast any buccaneer would love. I left the experience feeling like a pirate myself.
